Jack Parry

Jack Parry - Director

Jack Parry has 9 years animation industry experience and over 11 years teaching experience. Besides, being the Director of Parry Studios, he has taught 3D Animation at RMIT, Deakin University and The Computer Graphics College. Jack has a first class Honours degree in Computer Engineering and has completed 4 years of postgraduate research in speech science.  Jack's film "Flutterby" has been awarded 2007 Best Victorian Film by The Victorian Independent Film Festival. He has just completed a Screen Australia co-funded short film called Calypso. In addition to native English, Jack speaks fluent French and Spanish.   

Marianna Parry

Marianna Parry - Producer

Marianna has been working with Jack as a manager/producer since their meeting in 2002. She is currently the producer of The Papilio Odyssey.  

Her qualifications include a Masters Qualifying in Critical Studies and a Bachelor of Biomedical Science. Her personal awards include Sir John Monash Award for Excellence in 2002 from the Faculty of Arts.

Marianna speaks English and Russian fluently.

Brendan Rick

Brendan Rick - Music & 3D Animation

Brendan is the animation heart of The Counterfeit Gypsies who debuted at the Canberra National Multicultural Festival at the Albert Hall in 2001. 

The music of The Counterfeit Gypsies has featured as soundtracks for short films ‘The Bowerbird' and ‘Seven Days with Seven Dogs' , animation 'Flutterby' and ‘The Wasp Rider' , which has captured the hearts of music lovers, artists and dancers across the country, now forms the backbone of the Parry Studios production Calypso.

Anthony Woodcock

Anthony Woodcock - Associate Producer

Anthony has previously produced the short films BLINK and BODY BY BUCK, as well as the documentaries THE RETURN OF THE BIRDMAN RALLY and TOP FUN. Anthony approached Australian singer/songwriter Pete Murray at a gig in the UK about the concept of creating a short film based upon Pete’s song, Ten Ft Tall. The rest, as they say, is history. Anthony is currently working on the British feature film, THE COTTAGE. Anthony’s other interest is freelance photography, and has many of his pieces currently hanging in five different countries. Anthony joins us as an associate producer in our AFC funded production, Calypso.

Sarah Watt

Sarah Watt

Sarah Watt is a multi-award winning director, producer and animator. In 1995, she directed a short film, Small Treasures, which won Best Short at the Venice Film Festival. In 2000, she contributed animations for the SBS series Swim Between the Flags. She received the AFI award for Best Director for her 2005 film Look Both Ways.  Sarah recently completed a new feature film My Year Without Sex

Sarah is participating in our Screen Australia production Calypso as a professional film mentor.

 

Mike Cowap

Mike Cowap

Mike Cowap has been a Development Manager with Screen Australia (formerly Australian Film Commission) since 2005, with responsibilities across animation, digital media, feature film, television series, and documentary. As Manager of Industry Development at the South Australian Film Corporation, Mike was responsible for programs and initiatives designed to strengthen South Australia’s film, television and digital media industries.  Mike was the production manager of Calypso.
