Brendan Rick
Brendan is the animation
heart of The Counterfeit
Gypsies who debuted at the Canberra National Multicultural
Festival at the Albert
Hall
in 2001.
The band has gone on to perform at the Woodford
and National Folk Festivals, and will be on their East Coast of Australia Tour
in December 2006. At the end of tour the band plans to record a new album in
Melbourne, which will follow their debut, ‘Music to Vacuum to' and their
more recent release ‘Wonky Donkey' . Due to the wide appeal of their
music The Counterfeit Gypsies have performed at a variety of events and functions,
including appearances at The National Gallery of Victoria, The State Library
of Victoria and the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
The music of The Counterfeit
Gypsies has featured as soundtracks for short films ‘The Bowerbird'
and ‘Seven Days with Seven Dogs' , animation ‘The
Wasp Rider' , which has captured the hearts of music lovers, artists and dancers
across the country, now forms the backbone of the Parry Studios production
Papilio Odyssey. |
